Field Service

Dispatch technicians, run on-site work orders from mobile, capture parts and signatures, and invoice the job.

Updated April 2, 2026

Field Service manages work that happens at the customer’s site — schedule and dispatch crews, run the job from a phone, and turn completed work into an invoice.

Schedule & dispatch

  1. Go to XO Operations → Field → Jobs → New job.
  2. Set the customer, location, service, and time window.
  3. Dispatch to a technician based on skills and availability (links to Resource Planning).

On site (mobile)

  • The technician sees the job, customer, and checklist in the XO app.
  • Record parts/inventory used (draws from stock), time, and notes.
  • Capture a customer signature and photos on completion.

Close & invoice

Completed jobs roll up parts and labor into an invoice (or a work order) with full history.

Best practices

  • Dispatch by skill + proximity to cut travel time.
  • Require signature + photos on completion for dispute-proof records.
  • Track parts used so stock and job cost stay accurate.

Troubleshooting

  • Stock not deducted. Confirm the part was added from a stock-tracked warehouse.
  • Tech can’t see the job. Check assignment and app access.
