Drivers keeps your operators compliant and accountable — licenses, assignments, and behavior — and links each trip and incident to a named driver.
Plan: part of XO Fleet · Record. Driving-behavior scoring from live data needs XO Fleet · Tracking (Telematics).
Add a driver
- Go to XO Fleet → Drivers → New driver.
- Link to the employee record if internal (from Employee Hub).
- Record the license type, number, and expiry, plus any permits.
- Save.
Assignment
Assign drivers to vehicles for a period; XO keeps the assignment history so trips, fuel, and violations attribute correctly.

Behavior & violations
- Record traffic violations/fines against the driver and vehicle.
- With Tracking, capture driving behavior (speeding, harsh braking) and score drivers.
Best practices
- Keep license expiries current — they feed compliance reminders.
- Tie drivers to employees so HR and Fleet share one identity.
- Review violations trends to target safety training.
Troubleshooting
- Trips not attributed. Check the driver-to-vehicle assignment for that period.
- No behavior score. Behavior requires Tracking hardware on the vehicle.
