Configure cart and checkout — guest checkout, fields, pre-orders, and reorder — to convert browsers into buyers.

Checkout is where carts become orders. Tune it to reduce friction — guest checkout, the right fields, pre-orders, and reorder — while feeding clean orders into Orders and Inventory.
Configure checkout
- Go to XO Commerce → Checkout → Settings.
- Enable guest checkout so buyers complete without an account.
- Set required checkout fields and address/identity capture (incl. international shipping details).
- Configure cart/order options (notes, gift options, min order).

Pre-orders & reorder
- Pre-order lets customers buy items not yet in stock (reduce returns with a pre-order confirmation step).
- Reorder lets returning customers repeat a past order in a tap.
Order reviews
Collect order/product reviews post-purchase to build social proof.
Best practices
- Keep checkout fields minimal — every extra field costs conversion.
- Offer guest checkout; let account creation be optional after purchase.
- Use pre-order confirmation for made-to-order goods to cut cancellations.
Troubleshooting
- High cart abandonment. Trim fields, surface shipping cost early, and pair with Promotions abandoned-cart recovery.
- Checkout blocked. A required field or address validation is failing — review settings.
